Call 4 Solidarity
On March 2nd, the Zionist entity has escalated its expansionist assault against the people of Lebanon, issuing death, erasure and forced displacement threats against one quarter of the population, while killing 500 martyrs in one week only.
In addition to destruction and displacement, the evidence of the Zionist entity’s systematic war on the environment is blatant. This ecocide has strong implications on our food system as the areas most affected by the bombings are essential agricultural lands (South Lebanon and Beqaa).
Our initiative aims to organize and resist in the long term.
In addition to short-term relief efforts like mattresses, food parcels and solidarity kitchens, long-term support for farmers against the violence they face is as crucial (displacements, loss of their lands, cattle and crops).
Not only are they among the most vulnerable populations, but they are also the very foundation of our food system. A system on the brink of collapse and vulnerable to a prolonged war and potential blockades.
Gaza’s case clearly demonstrates that sieges are strategies for famine and that it is crucial, for our survival, to preserve our food sovereignty and be sure to continue growing our own food.
The collected amounts will be used to distribute Heirloom seeds, local nurseries , as well as, share land resources and continue to sustain community farmed land that we initiated in the south of Lebanon during the war of 2024,among others.
It is important to continue defending our seeds, our land, and our rights.
